About the Role

We are seeking experienced CDL-A Owner Operator Drivers across the United States to join our network as independent contractors. This role is ideal for business-minded drivers seeking higher earnings potential and the flexibility of running their own operation. As a partner within our network, you will have access to a robust agent base, consistent freight opportunities, and top-tier operational support.

You will operate a commercial vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations, planning routes to minimize empty miles and maximize fuel efficiency. The position requires maintaining regular communication with UACL agents for load alerts and scheduling, ensuring freight is properly handled, and representing UACL with professionalism at pickup and delivery locations. You will utilize our technology tools for load management and documentation while participating in optional training programs to enhance operational efficiency.

Compensation & Benefits

Owner operators can earn up to 75% of linehaul pay. In the Van Division, drivers renting a van trailer from UACL receive 67% of linehaul with an 8% trailer rental fee, with the option to switch to a weekly flat rate to access the 75% linehaul tier. Flatbed Division drivers earn 75% of linehaul, with a weekly flat rate trailer rental available for those without their own flatbed. Actual pay-per-mile and weekly gross earnings vary based on customers, freight lanes, and driver preference.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is paid directly to the truck. Additional perks include access to 300+ freight agents nationwide, 24/7 operations and road service support, the U-Save Driver Discount Program, hotel savings, cell phone plan discounts, and fuel, maintenance, and retail perks. We also offer competitive insurance programs, a plates program, and online orientation for fast onboarding.

Hiring Process

Interested candidates must possess a valid CDL-A and own or lease a truck suitable for over-the-road operation. Applicants must meet all DOT and FMCSA qualifications and maintain a strong safety record. The onboarding process includes an online orientation to ensure a quick start.
