System Transport has been hauling what builds America since 1972. We combine the resources of a large company with the personal feel of a small one, keeping the country running with drivers behind the wheel. Our mission is to transport essential goods and materials—including glass, steel, aluminum, building materials, machinery, coils, and specialty metals—while maintaining a culture of "America Proud, Flatbed Strong."
As a Flatbed CDL-A Driver, you will operate in the western region of America across regional, local, dedicated, and over-the-road (OTR) routes. You will drive a fleet of modern flatbed trucks equipped with cutting-edge safety technologies, including lane departure and forward collision warning systems, hard brake monitoring, and satellite communication devices. Every tractor is meticulously maintained to ensure it is 100% ready for the road before you drive it.
This role is physically demanding; flatbed drivers tarp approximately 70% of loads, requiring the ability to lift a 90-pound tarp onto a 5-foot high platform twice. You will have access to an award-winning driver portal for real-time updates, pay access, and trip data, supported by 24/7/365 road service staff and shops.
To join our team, you must meet specific safety and experience qualifications, including a valid Class A CDL, being 21 years of age or older, and maintaining a safe driving record. The process includes a background check, a clean drug test, and a clean Clearinghouse result. Additionally, candidates must pass a physical test during orientation to demonstrate the ability to handle flatbed tarping requirements.
We offer a $1,800 Transition Package to help you settle in, with $1,000 allocated for orientation during your first two weeks. To apply, fill out our short-form application which takes approximately 2 minutes to complete, or speak with a recruiter at 1-866-725-5083 to find the route that fits you best.
System Transport is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fair pay and equal opportunity for all employees. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. While we do not allow pets, we do permit riders aged 7 and up after 90 days of safe driving. We are dedicated to your safety and comfort, ensuring you have the support and modern equipment needed to succeed on the road.
