The RN Circulator serves as a vital member of the surgical team, assuming full responsibility and accountability for the nursing care of patients throughout the surgical process. Working in collaboration with other healthcare providers, this role ensures the safe and efficient management of the operating room environment. The position is part-time, scheduled Monday through Thursday, with specific days rotating based on the weekly block schedule.
In this role, you will monitor patients continuously, managing essential equipment, fluid lines, tubes, drains, and catheters as needed. You will exercise sound clinical judgment to determine appropriate nursing actions and maintain composure during emergency situations. The position requires making independent clinical decisions regarding patient care needs and communicating effectively with the broader team. Success in this role demands a collaborative team-player attitude and the ability to utilize work time efficiently to support the center's mission.
Candidates must hold a current state RN license and be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Certification in CPR and ACLS is required, and candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience in the operating room. Experience in orthopedic surgery is preferred.
