About the Role
WSP is currently initiating a search for On-Call Emergency Management Specialists – Safety. These positions have the potential to report out of any WSP USA office, which could include Boston, MA; Jacksonville, FL; Tallahassee, FL; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL; Miami, FL; Birmingham, AL; New Orleans, LA; Raleigh, NC; Columbia, SC; Dallas, TX; or Houston, TX.
Emergency management cadre positions are on-call and assignments are on an as-needed basis. Cadre members are not eligible for benefits.
Cadre members are asked for a 30 day commitment; availability to deploy with little to no advance notice (typically within 24-48 hours); and during deployments, ability to potentially work 8-12 hours/day; 7 days/week.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleEnsure worksite safety and compliance with applicable regulations
- check_circleConduct audits for safety gear, signage, and procedure compliance
- check_circleSupport Emergency Management Project Management functions within the Emergency Management team
- check_circleDeploy to Emergency Operations Centers and Field Staging Areas
- check_circleAttend job briefings and observe daily field observations
- check_circleSupport Emergency Management team in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery
- check_circleFile daily safety reports and include them in field reports
Requirements
- verifiedHS Diploma
- verified7+ years experience including 1+ years in safety and/or 1+ years in Emergency Management role
- verified3 years cumulative safety experience managing/implementing SOH program on similar projects
- verified24 hours documented formal classroom or online SOH-related training within past 5 years SOH training; maintain 8 hours/year
- verifiedBroad knowledge of Safety and Emergency Management principles, methods, Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques
- verifiedOSHA 30 Construction, General Industry or higher certification (DOL Wallet Card required after 90 days)
- verifiedIntermediate computer experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, mobile applications
- verifiedMust be able to deploy to disaster area with little/no advance notice (24-48 hours)
- verifiedPass WSP Motor Vehicle screening
- verifiedAuthorized to work in the United States
