About the Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for On‑Call Emergency Management Specialists – Safety. Because the actual work location will be the deployment site(s), these positions have the potential to report out of any WSP USA office, which could include Boston, MA; Jacksonville, FL; Tallahassee, FL; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL; Miami, FL; Birmingham, AL; New Orleans, LA; Raleigh, NC; Columbia, SC; Dallas, TX; or Houston, TX.
These positions are on‑call and assignments are on an as‑needed basis. Cadre members are not eligible for benefits. Cadre members are asked for a 30‑day commitment; availability to deploy with little to no advance notice (typically within 24–48 hours); and during deployments, ability to potentially work 8–12 hours/day, 7 days/week.
Your Impact
Support Emergency Management team in servicing clients preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters nationwide and in U.S. territories.
Deploy to Emergency Operations Center and/or Field Staging Area operations prior to, during, and post‑disaster.
Responsible for ensuring that worksites are safe for workers and comply with applicable regulations.
Conduct audits to check for proper safety gear, signage, and compliance with safety.
Daily activities will be to attend job briefings and observe work throughout the day and file daily safety reports as required and/or as part of the daily field reports.
Attend periodic training throughout the year to maintain deployment.
Support Emergency Management Project Management.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business.

Requirements
- verifiedHS Diploma
- verified7+ years experience including 1+ years in safety and/or 1+ years in Emergency Management
- verified3 years cumulative safety experience managing SOH program in last 10 years
- verified24 hours SOH training in past 5 years, 8 hours annually
- verifiedOSHA 30 Construction, General Industry or higher certification (DOL Wallet Card required after 90 days)
- verifiedIntermediate Microsoft Office, Adobe, mobile apps
- verifiedDeploy within 24-48 hours
- verifiedPass WSP Motor Vehicle screening
- verifiedAuthorized to work in the United States
