The Office of Undergraduate Admission is dedicated to connecting prospective students with the vibrant University of La Verne community. We strive to showcase our campus culture, events, and student life through authentic and engaging storytelling.
As a Student Social Media Specialist, you will serve as a creative voice for the Office of Admission. This position is designed to help us connect with and grow our prospective student audience by managing our presence across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (X), YouTube, and TikTok. You will also keep an eye out for emerging platforms to expand our reach.
Beyond social media management, you will assist with broader media initiatives, including collecting photo and video content, creating and editing informational videos, and designing flyers. This role offers a unique opportunity to represent the University in a positive and authentic manner while developing your professional portfolio.
This position is conducted mostly independently, requiring you to take initiative in creating and managing content. You can expect to dedicate 5 to 10 hours per week (10-20 hours per pay period) to these projects. To ensure alignment and support, regular meetings with your supervisor will be scheduled on a bi-weekly or monthly basis, either in person or virtually, depending on your schedule.
This role is exclusively open to current University of La Verne students who are already serving as a Student Social Media Specialist in the Office of Admission. Candidates must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University and possess reliable access to a mobile device or computer with internet connectivity.

Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), and other social media platforms. Proficiency with basic photo and video editing tools such as Canva, CapCut, or Adobe Express. Previous experience managing content calendars and scheduling posts. Strong understanding of social media trends and strategies to increase student engagement. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects. Experience in analyzing social media performance and recommending ways to improve reach and engagement. Prior leadership or mentoring experience.
