The Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in developing, planning, and implementing therapeutic programs tailored to the unique needs of our K-8 students. This position exists to improve the overall school experience by ensuring students have the necessary tools to succeed academically and socially.
In this role, you will serve as a key member of the transdisciplinary team. Your day involves observation, screening, and evaluation of students who require or may require occupational therapy services. You will write goals and objectives that align with district curriculum and instructional standards, while providing direct services in a collaborative model. A significant part of your work involves building effective working relationships with special education personnel, regular education staff, and parents to support student development.
We are particularly interested in candidates who bring expertise in augmentative communication devices and have experience in the language development of non-native English speakers. Bilingual ability in Spanish is highly preferred to better serve our diverse community.
Candidates selected for an interview will be evaluated by the Student Services Director and/or Special Education Coordinator, with input from the school principal or designee. Successful candidates must maintain valid certifications, licenses, and an Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
