Obstetrics and Gynecology - Locum Tenens

About the Role

This is a short-term locum tenens opportunity for an OB/GYN to support a Level 3 Trauma center in South Carolina. The facility is an 81-bed hospital featuring five labor rooms and six postpartum beds. The role offers a unique blend of clinical independence and community impact, requiring a provider comfortable working in a rural setting.

The position involves a mix of clinic and inpatient call coverage. You will spend 2-3 days per week in the clinic, managing an average of 20-25 patients daily. Inpatient responsibilities include daily rounding on 0-5 patients, regardless of the day of the week. The clinical volume includes approximately one delivery per day and 2-4 non-stress tests (NST) or observations daily. While the midwives in Clarendon serve as the first call, the locum physician will handle second call coverage on a 24/7 basis. The role requires comfort with both vaginal deliveries and C-sections, though circumcision is not required. Additionally, you will provide ED consults for OB/GYN patients as needed.

Delta Locum Tenens will assist with all travel arrangements and credentialing requirements. The firm also covers malpractice insurance for this assignment. To qualify, candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in OB/GYN, hold an active South Carolina license, and possess a DEA certificate and South Carolina Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) prior to credentialing. The EMR system used at the facility is EPIC.
