The Richland Hospital campus serves as the primary clinical teaching site for the University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Columbia. Our facility features a fully staffed Level III NICU, 16 active labor rooms, and three operating rooms within the labor and delivery suite.

About the Role
As an OB/GYN Academic Laborist/Hospitalist, you will be the cornerstone of our labor and delivery operations, managing the L&D floor, staffing triage and transports, and assisting with antepartum and postpartum management. This role offers a unique blend of clinical practice and academic leadership, allowing you to perform emergency and unscheduled OB/GYN cases while collaborating with residents and participating in undergraduate medical education.
You will work within a highly skilled, collegial team that includes experienced nurses, a hospital-based Doula and Midwife team, and an in-house anesthesia team. The position provides 24/7 support from Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists and a back-up call system, ensuring you have the resources needed for optimal patient care. In addition to clinical duties, you will hold an academic appointment with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, engaging in Grand Rounds and refining your surgical skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.
