We are seeking full-time and part-time Nurse Practitioners to provide coverage at Occupational Health clinics throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx. This role is designed for professionals who value autonomy and flexibility, allowing you to choose your own days to fit your schedule.
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide professional nursing care to adult patients and their significant others via direct and/or telephone contact. Your focus will be on coordinating with other care team members to ensure seamless delivery, maximal effort coordination, and active patient participation in care planning. Please note that this position is adult-only; we typically do not see pediatric patients.
In this role, you will administer a variety of vaccines including TDAP, TD, Hepatitis B, seasonal flu, MMR, and Varicella. You will also be responsible for implanting and reading Tuberculous Skin Tests (TST).
A key component of your daily workflow involves conducting our History and Physical assessments. These are physical assessments rather than comprehensive medical exams, typically taking approximately 8-10 minutes to complete. You will also provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses, clerical assistants, medical assistants, and other non-licensed personnel.
The role requires full range of body motion, including moving and lifting patients, as well as manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. You may occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force, such as assisting patients in arising from exam tables or managing wheelchairs. The position involves sitting and/or standing for extended periods and requires corrected vision and hearing.
You will work in a medical office environment that may involve frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, and medicinal preparations. The role requires the use of a computer keyboard throughout the day and may involve the use of an autoclave for instrument sterilization. While the environment is professional, you may occasionally work under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
