This position serves as a vital extension of the medical and nursing staff, providing essential support to patients within their own residences, skilled nursing facilities, or other care settings. The role is designed to bridge the gap between clinical care and daily living, ensuring patients receive compassionate assistance with personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
As a member of the healthcare team, you will play an active part in the patient's daily routine and recovery journey. Your day involves more than just completing tasks; it requires engaging with patients to encourage self-care, assisting with range of motion exercises, and supporting restorative care goals. You will be the eyes and ears of the care team, observing patient symptoms, reporting changes in condition, and participating in interdisciplinary meetings to help shape care plans.
Beyond direct patient interaction, the role encompasses maintaining a safe and clean care environment. This includes managing patient linens, setting up specialized equipment, and performing basic laboratory tests such as diabetic checks or specimen collection. You will also be responsible for the upkeep of medical equipment and ensuring supplies are stocked and functional.
Candidates must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License and a Nursing Assistant Certificate (or Registered Nursing Assistant certification) at the time of hire. Basic Life Support certification is also required. Please note that current KP Coalition employees are exempt from the one-year experience requirement per the National Agreement.
We are committed to providing a diverse and inclusive workplace. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics.
