As a Nuclear Medicine Tech PRN, you will provide care for patients requiring Nuclear Medicine procedures. Your role involves performing duties directly related to procedures utilizing radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in accordance with ALARA standards. You will operate equipment to measure radiation, produce images, and quantify physiologic responses, relaying this data to physicians for interpretation.
A key part of your day will be employing practices and techniques to ensure the safe handling of radioactive materials, particularly when dosing patients with radiopharmaceuticals (both orally and intravenously) as prescribed by a licensed physician. All employees at North Florida Regional Medical Center are expected to promote a culture of safety, follow established policies, and adhere to all state, federal, Joint Commission, and National Patient Safety standards.
