About the Role
We are seeking a Local Box Truck Driver to service assigned accounts in a professional manner. In this role, you will ensure customers' needs are met continually for various waste pickup and supply delivery operations. You will transport waste from WMHS locations or customer sites to transfer or processing locations, always providing the highest level of customer service.
Your day will involve managing assigned routes to ensure waste is picked up safely, timely, and accurately. You will plan your daily schedule based on customer needs, reviewing paperwork such as manifests and route sheets. You will be responsible for loading trucks with necessary supplies, securing waste, and ensuring all packaging meets federal, provincial, and local regulations before transport.
All company-assigned vehicles are equipped with advanced technology, including inside and outside camera telematics, ELD (electronic logging devices), and GPS. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on your truck and log hours in accordance with DOT guidelines. Communication with the Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher is key to resolving issues like re-routes, container adjustments, or address changes.
