Are you an experienced hospitalist interested in advancing your career? TeamHealth is seeking an experienced hospitalist physician to join our team as a full-time nocturnist at the University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, Kansas. This role is best suited for clinicians with prior inpatient experience; we are unable to consider new graduates.
As a nocturnist, you will manage nightly admissions (averaging 9 to 10 per night) and supervise an Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) until midnight. Your day-to-day will involve responding to cross-coverage calls, running codes and rapid responses, and providing support for a 16-bed semi-closed ICU with pulmonary and critical care capabilities. Intensivists are available 24/7 and can return onsite overnight as needed. No procedures are required for this position, and the APC handles most floor calls until the end of their shift.
St. Francis is a 378-bed hospital featuring strong specialty coverage and a supportive nursing staff. The facility offers a wide variety of cases due to referrals from regional critical access hospitals.
This position operates on a 7-on/7-off block schedule from 7pm to 7am. The contract covers 14 to 15 shifts per month, with opportunities for additional shifts.
Candidates must be an MD or DO, trained in internal medicine or family medicine, ABIM/ABFM board certified or eligible, and ACLS-certified. Applicants must also be compliant with initial COVID-19 vaccination requirements. Apply today to learn more.
