Roswell Independent School District is dedicated to providing a safe, sanitary, and attractive learning environment for students, staff, and the public. Our custodial team plays a vital role in maintaining district facilities, ensuring that schools remain operational, secure, and welcoming for daily educational activities and community events.
As a Custodian, you will be the backbone of facility maintenance across designated campuses. Your primary mission is to support the district's educational goals by keeping classrooms, offices, restrooms, and grounds clean, safe, and ready for use. This role goes beyond cleaning; you will arrange furniture for meetings and events, manage supplies, and perform essential inspections to identify safety hazards or necessary repairs.
Your day will involve a mix of routine maintenance and responsive tasks. You will prepare facilities for the start of the school day, manage the aftermath of extracurricular activities and athletic events, and ensure the exterior grounds are free of debris. You will also coordinate with janitorial helpers, manage equipment like vacuums and buffers, and handle minor repairs. Flexibility is key, as you may work alone or alongside large groups, adapting to varying weather conditions and noise levels while maintaining a positive attitude.
This position operates on a specific shift schedule from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm.
Interested candidates should review the full qualifications, which include a valid driver's license and car insurance. The district seeks individuals who can work cooperatively with colleagues and administrators while adhering to all safety protocols and district policies. Successful candidates will be expected to complete all required training regarding hygiene, chemical safety, and equipment operation.
