Amentum is seeking a Network Engineer - Staff to join a dynamic team of IT professionals dedicated to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. This role supports a challenging, critical, and rewarding program that provides integrated voice, video, and data services throughout the Information Technology lifecycle. As a Network Engineer - Staff, you will be a vital part of a collaborative unit focused on the evolution of network infrastructure. You will assist in managing multiple projects and initiatives under the guidance of senior engineers, utilizing standard systems development life cycle models. Your day-to-day involves providing support for local and wide area networking, communications, and related hardware/software in a multi-platform environment.
You will collaborate with team members to analyze and develop new hardware requirements, research emerging technologies like Virtualization and Software Defined Networking (SDN), and assist in reviewing network designs. A key part of your mission is to help identify and troubleshoot performance, security, and technical issues while maintaining rigorous documentation for network designs and operations. Success in this role requires the ability to rapidly adapt to new products and processes, working independently or as part of a team to ensure seamless network operations.
This position requires a 40-hour work week with shifts that vary to support continuous operations. Shifts include:
Shifts run Sunday through Saturday. Overtime may be required during critical peaks or to meet last-minute requests.
