Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end-users with high-quality IT platform and network services over an eight-year period. This role supports the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 EOM.
This position is located onsite in Ft. Bragg, NC. The purpose of the SITEC 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order is to provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps), systems, and network infrastructure. The Network Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and the end-users who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
In this role, you will test and analyze network facilities, including power, software, security features, and communications devices, while managing the overall integration of the enterprise network. You will be responsible for planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, and maintenance of the network. Your day-to-day involves monitoring and controlling network performance using software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose complex problems.
You will provide guidance and direction for junior network support technicians and interface with O&M personnel to provide strategic design and support to projects. The role requires comprehensive review of existing architectures to recommend and assist with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements. You will establish systems engineering with a focus on end-to-end functionality of complex systems, perform disaster recovery and backup/restore, and support network cybersecurity technology, risk identification, and mitigation strategies in accordance with applicable DoD and IC directives.
Some positions may require shift work and/or the ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.
