At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department develops guidance section electronics architectures, supports subsystem analyses, integration and test, and provides program leadership. We partner with several Electrical Engineering Departments to deliver detailed designs for our electrical products. We are seeking entry-level candidates willing to collaborate, innovate, and team with our engineers to generate and utilize cutting-edge technology to develop electrical subsystems.
The AEGS Department is searching for a Navigation/IMU Engineer to work alongside experienced engineers in selecting Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) and integrating them into navigation subsystems. You will apply your understanding of IMU fundamentals, testing methodologies, and performance analysis to support our mission. This role requires a basic grasp of serial interfaces, hardware integration, and how IMUs function within a broader guidance and navigation system.
As a member of a program Integrated Product Team (IPT), you will work independently with little supervision to set up tests verifying IMU performance and analyze the results. Your day-to-day may involve supporting multiple programs, conducting root-cause failure investigations, and developing requirements and test plans. You will interface with IMU suppliers, perform peer reviews as a subject matter expert, and present status updates on issues, progress, and accomplishments to leadership and government customers. RTX fosters a strong culture of mentoring, where you will serve as both a mentor and a mentee.
Candidates must possess an active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (DoD Secret) or the ability to obtain an interim clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is a strict requirement as only citizens are eligible for these clearances.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations in Tucson, AZ, regardless of the role's work model designation. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted, though this may vary based on candidate flow and business necessity.
RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status. We provide affirmative action in employment for qualified individuals with a disability and protected veterans in compliance with federal regulations. Our values of Safety, Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation drive our actions and behaviors as we work toward a safer, more connected world.
