About the Role
The next part of your journey is right around the corner with The Standard. Our National Accounts team is growing, and we are seeking a National Accounts Sales Consultant to acquire, grow, and retain large employer group clients (5,000+ lives) in the National Accounts segment. This role focuses primarily on Core Life and Disability insurance products.
Reporting to the Senior Director, you will build broker partnerships, execute complex sales strategies, and drive growth and profitability across assigned markets. As a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, you will serve as the bridge between key brokers, consultants, and clients, ensuring consistent communication and coordination with internal Client Management, Product, and Underwriting teams.
Your Impact
In this role, you will lead RFPs and renewals, present proposals, and negotiate terms to ensure client satisfaction and competitive, profitable deals. You will monitor market trends and competition, sharing insights to refine sales strategies and improve processes. Your ability to anticipate customer needs and develop solutions that exceed expectations will be key to your success.

Requirements

- verifiedMinimum 5 years of national account sales experience in employee benefits
- verified8+ years of experience selling Life & Disability products to large employers
- verifiedProven experience in large-case (5,000+ lives) sales within group benefits or insurance industry
- verifiedExpertise in Life and Disability products, including voluntary and absence management solutions
- verifiedDeep broker and consultant network within the National Accounts segment
- verifiedExperience selling life, disability, absence management, and paid family leave
- verifiedMust reside in the United States
- verifiedAbility to travel 30% to 50% annually
