About the Role
This position offers the opportunity to provide music therapy services to students with disabilities in K-12 school settings within Corpus Christi, TX. You will serve as a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans to support students' communication, social-emotional, cognitive, and motor goals. The role is designed to integrate music therapy directly into each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), ensuring that therapeutic outcomes are maximized through close collaboration with teachers, families, and related service providers.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleConduct formalized and functional assessments to determine student eligibility and baseline functioning
- check_circleDevelop and implement individualized music therapy treatment plans aligned with IEP goals
- check_circleProvide direct music therapy services targeting communication, social-emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and motor skills
- check_circleCollaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to support skill generalization across settings
- check_circleMaintain accurate session notes, assessment data, and progress documentation
- check_circleParticipate in ARD/IEP meetings and contribute clinical recommendations
- check_circleComplete and maintain compliant IEPs while participating in annual and triennial reviews
Requirements
- verifiedBoard Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC)
- verifiedBachelor's degree or higher in Music Therapy from an AMTA-approved program or equivalent coursework
- verifiedDOJ/FBI Live Scan background clearance
Nice to Have
One or more years of experience providing music therapy in a school or pediatric setting. Familiarity with special education law, IEP processes, and ARD meetings. Knowledge of evidence-based music therapy practices for diverse populations. Experience working with students with autism, communication disorders, or other developmental disabilities.
