About the Team
The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is dedicated to providing exceptional care and safety within its facilities. The Security Officer serves as a vital member of the Safety & Security team, reporting directly to the Medical Center Security Manager. This role is essential for maintaining a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff across the institution's grounds and buildings.
About the Role
As a Security Officer, you will monitor and provide protection for the facility, ensuring the safety of everyone on campus. You will perform routine duties following clearly prescribed standards, working in shifts that may include overtime. The position requires the ability to communicate tactfully and clearly with the general public, patients, and colleagues. You will be expected to apply knowledge of security methods for buildings and grounds while adhering to the practices set forth by the Manager of Hospital Security.
Hiring Process & Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a High School Diploma and one year of relevant experience in fields such as Security, Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Service, Behavioral Health, Counseling, Education, or the Military. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or other relevant certifications may substitute for the required work experience. Successful candidates must obtain and maintain the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification within their first year of employment and hold a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
