Dignity Health Medical Group - Sierra Nevada is launching a new Mobile Care Unit to bring essential healthcare services directly to rural communities. We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP) to lead this initiative, staffing the mobile unit three days a week while also supporting our existing brick-and-mortar Urgent Care Clinic in Grass Valley, CA.
This role is designed for a provider who thrives in dynamic environments. You will operate as the lead on the mobile unit, traveling approximately 50-100 miles from Grass Valley to serve patients in surrounding rural areas. The position requires a unique blend of clinical excellence and operational independence, as you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit, including cleaning, stocking, fueling, and waste tank maintenance. This is a full-time opportunity (168 shifts per year) that offers the chance to make a heroic impact in a community where healthcare providers are deeply appreciated.
As part of Dignity Health, a member of CommonSpirit Health, you will join one of the nation's largest health systems dedicated to advancing health for all people. You will work within a physician-led, professionally managed practice supported by highly trained, competent, and caring staff. This role offers the stability of a large medical foundation while providing the autonomy to shape the delivery of care in a growing, underserved region.
Imagine living and working in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills. Grass Valley and Nevada County offer a rich blend of history, charm, and outdoor adventure. The area features historic buildings, museums, state parks, and over a dozen wineries. It is a hub for arts and entertainment, situated less than 90 minutes from Lake Tahoe, allowing for a lifestyle that transitions from sunny beaches to snow-covered slopes in a single day.
With a population of 13,000 residents and a service area of 100,000 lives, the community is close-knit yet connected to the Sacramento metro area (57 miles away). The region boasts year-round moderate weather, making it an ideal location for hiking, cycling, fishing, camping, hunting, boating, skiing, golfing, and gold panning.
We are looking for candidates with experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Primary Care, or Street Medicine who are open to the unique demands of mobile healthcare. If you possess a valid and unrestricted California license, national certification, and a Class C driver's license with an acceptable driving record, we invite you to apply.
Interested candidates should submit their application through the Dignity Health careers portal. Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview to discuss their clinical experience and fit for the mobile unit mission.
