About the Role

As a Mid-Level Piping Engineer based in Oak Ridge, you will collaborate with a multidiscipline team to plan work and deliver pressure piping system designs. This role is critical for ensuring the integrity and safety of piping infrastructure. You will generate specifications in accordance with ANSI B31.3 and B31.9, perform complex calculations including hydraulic analysis and stress analysis, and select appropriate pipe supports. The position involves a blend of office-based design work and field engagement, requiring you to conduct constructability reviews on drawings and at site locations. You will also assist in developing General Arrangement Drawings and perform piping safety reviews to maintain high standards of operational safety.

Work Environment & Culture

This role offers a hybrid or remote work model with a preference for candidates local to Oak Ridge, TN, though non-local applicants with applicable experience are encouraged to apply. While the position is primarily office-based, it includes intermittent travel to the office and occasional field work. In the field, you may work near construction equipment, hazardous machinery, and uneven ground, with exposure to varying environmental conditions such as dust, gas, fumes, noise, and temperature extremes.
