About the Role

You will serve as a dedicated nurse on the Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit, caring for an adult and geriatric patient population. Your day will involve managing complex orthopedic elective surgeries, including total joint replacements for hips, knees, shoulders, and spine, as well as treating trauma patients requiring multiple surgical interventions. You will also provide care for patients with osteomyelitis and other skin and bone infections requiring long-term IV antibiotics. Key responsibilities include performing traction, bedside debridement, and complex dressing changes, alongside essential IV therapy and phlebotomy skills such as PICC line management.

The shift schedule runs from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, covering 12-hour night shifts with a pattern of every other weekend. While the role is primarily focused on the orthopedic unit, you may be required to float to other Med Surg departments as needed. The assignment is expected to last 13 weeks, with a maximum of 5 days of time off allowed during the contract period.
