This position serves as a vital support function within the Material Management Department and the Directorate for Administration at NMCSD. The role is designed to ensure the seamless flow of medical logistics, maintaining the availability of critical supplies, equipment, and furniture for the medical treatment facility and its outlying buildings.
As a key member of the General Stores team, you will operate within a 24/7 operational environment. Your day-to-day involves managing the lifecycle of medical inventory—from processing internal customer orders and removing expired items to utilizing automated systems for filling carousel bins and supply lockers. You will act as the primary point of contact for supply inquiries via a 24-hour hotline, providing professional customer service to end users throughout the hospital complex.
The role requires a blend of technical proficiency with computerized supply systems and physical agility to manage inventory carts, load transport lockers, and operate Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). You will be responsible for generating picklists, conducting inventory audits using handheld devices, and ensuring that PAR carts are restocked efficiently to support clinical operations.
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to meet the continuous needs of the medical facility. The General Stores area operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, meaning this role includes working weekends, holidays, and various shifts. The work environment is primarily indoors, involving everyday risks associated with electronics in a medical setting. The area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
The position involves a combination of sedentary duties and light to moderate physical effort, including walking, standing, reaching, bending, and lifting items up to 45 pounds. Occasional travel to contractor and customer sites may be required.
Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance and will be subject to a criminal background check. Successful applicants will be required to acquire and maintain all necessary training and certifications relevant to the contract.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
