Medical Supply Technician

About the Role

This position serves as a vital support function within the Material Management Department and the Directorate for Administration at NMCSD. The role is designed to ensure the seamless flow of medical logistics, maintaining the availability of essential supplies, equipment, and furniture for the medical treatment facility and its outlying buildings.

As a key member of the General Stores operations, you will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of supply items, from processing internal customer orders and managing stock to removing outdated or expired items. Your work directly impacts the efficiency of the hospital complex by operating computerized systems to fill carousel bins and supply lockers, generating picklists, and preparing lockers for transport on Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs).

The General Stores area operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Consequently, this role requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts. You will also serve as a primary point of contact for supply inquiries via a 24-hour hotline, providing professional and timely customer service to end users throughout the hospital.

Working Environment

Work is performed indoors in a medical environment that involves everyday risks and requires adherence to normal safety precautions. The area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The role involves a combination of sedentary duties and light to moderate physical effort, including walking, standing, reaching, bending, and lifting items up to 45 pounds. Occasional travel to contractor and customer sites may be required.

Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance and will be subject to a criminal background check. All personnel assigned to this contract are required to acquire and maintain all necessary training and certifications.
