As a Medical Receptionist at YAI, you serve as the welcoming face of our clinic, ensuring a positive and supportive experience for patients with disabilities and their families. This role is vital to the daily flow of our operations, acting as the first point of contact where professionalism and empathy intersect. You will manage the front desk and waiting room, guiding patients through check-in, scheduling, and initial inquiries while maintaining a clutter-free and organized environment.
Your day involves a dynamic mix of administrative and interpersonal tasks. You will coordinate patient flow, verify insurance eligibility, and handle payments, ensuring that every interaction is smooth and efficient. For specific assignments, you may also manage multi-line phone systems, process mail, and register new patients in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Beyond administrative duties, you play a key role in patient support by coordinating transportation services and following up on missed appointments to maximize clinic productivity.
This position requires the ability to adapt to a busy healthcare environment while adhering to strict regulatory standards, including HIPAA. You will collaborate closely with the Practice Administrator, nursing staff, and support departments to ensure quality care and operational excellence. Whether you are assisting a patient with a complex need or managing a high-volume schedule, your contribution helps YAI fulfill its mission of providing exceptional care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
