Medical Laboratory Scientist - Blood Bank

About the Role

The Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Regional Blood Bank at Providence Health Plaza in Portland, OR, is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high-complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. This role encompasses pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties, including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. The position requires close collaboration with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, as well as other Laboratory Services staff, to ensure seamless patient care.

As a Per Diem/Variable Shift role, this position offers the flexibility to support the dynamic needs of the blood bank while contributing to a culture of patient-focused, whole-person care built on understanding, commitment, and mutual respect.
