The Department of Nursing is seeking a Medical Assistant II to join the North Dodge Women's Health Clinic. In this role, you will serve as a vital member of the patient care team under the direct supervision of licensed independent practitioners, registered nurses, or nurse managers. Your primary focus will be supporting OBGYN and Women's Health patients, ensuring a seamless experience from arrival to departure.
You will facilitate the smooth flow of patients through the clinic by interacting effectively with patients, families, and staff. Your day will involve coordinating all elements of the patient visit, including assisting with physical examinations, updating patient histories, and managing medication records, allergies, and immunizations. You will also manage internal and external medical records to ensure data accuracy for appointments.
Clinical responsibilities include administering routine medications (oral, rectal, or injectable) and performing routine laboratory tests such as urinalysis, blood work, electrocardiograms, and x-rays as needed. You will also identify vaccination needs for specific patient populations and handle related clerical tasks, such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting with insurance prior authorizations.
