As a Medical Assistant at Well at Work Occupational Health, you will serve as a vital support to providers and nursing staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our occupational health office. This role is designed to bridge clinical care and administrative efficiency, creating a seamless experience for patients and employers alike.
In this position, you will manage the daily flow of patients and providers while ensuring exam rooms are prepared for every visit. Your day-to-day responsibilities include conducting essential clinical procedures such as blood draws, injections, vital signs, audiometry, pulmonary function tests, visual acuity checks, and urinalysis. Beyond clinical duties, you will handle critical clerical functions, including scheduling appointments, updating demographic information, answering phones, and assisting clients with the employer portal. You will also assist providers with chart documentation, ensuring accurate and timely records.
This role requires a strong understanding of patient care across the lifespan, with the ability to assess data and provide age-appropriate care in accordance with established policies and procedures. You will work in an environment classified as "at risk" for occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
Candidates must possess a Medical Assistant Certification and demonstrated competency in injections and blood draws. Within six months of hire or transfer, successful candidates are required to obtain the following certifications: Certified Professional Collector (CPC) for drug screens, NIOSH-approved Spirometry training, Breath Alcohol technician certification, and Audiometric Technician certification.
A valid driver's license is mandatory; if you do not currently hold an Ohio driver's license, you must obtain one within 30 days of establishing residency in the state. Additionally, all hires must meet the company's fleet policy requirements.
