You will be embedded within the Sensors and SONAR Systems Department (Code 15) of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport. Code 15 serves as the Navy's Technical Direction Agent (TDA) and In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for surface, submarine, and undersea SONAR systems. The department is responsible for full-spectrum engineering, development, and research regarding Sensors, SONAR, and Undersea Warfare, supporting platforms ranging from submarines and surface ships to distributed surveillance networks. Code 15 supports NAVSEA sponsors through critical technical programs including AN/BQQ-10, AN/SQQ-89, Maritime Surveillance Systems, and Advanced Development.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Media Center Analyst plays a vital logistical role in supporting the Business Operations across Code 15. This position is the operational backbone for managing the department's physical and digital media assets, ensuring the secure handling of classified materials and the efficient organization of data resources.
In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of media and documentation. Your day-to-day involves screening and processing incoming mail, verifying and logging media markings, and coordinating the secure check-in/out of classified media. You will be responsible for cataloging new media, processing transmittals for classified shipments, and tracking all movements to ensure accountability. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to maintaining inventory of classified media (BITs), overseeing the secure disposal of classified media and IT equipment, and facilitating owner/checkout transfers.
Beyond physical logistics, you will bridge the gap between analog and digital assets. You will transform full-size hardcopy tapes, drawings, and documents into digital formats for storage, retrieval, and archiving, ensuring both unclassified and classified data are preserved according to strict standards. You will also support the execution of the department's reorganization efforts, manage the annual cleanout workflow, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with data management policies.
Candidates selected for this role must possess an active Secret clearance and be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. The interview process typically involves a review of qualifications and clearance status, followed by discussions with the hiring manager and team members to assess technical fit and alignment with IND US's culture of innovation and support.
