Material Planning Manager

About the Role

The Material Planning Lead serves as a strategic partner to manufacturing operations, ensuring supply continuity across multiple plants while driving process efficiency and aligning with long-term production goals. This role is designed to build, mentor, and empower a high-performing, agile team that collaborates closely with Sourcing, Production, Logistics, and Supply Chain leadership. The position fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement that reflects the company's core values.

In this fast-paced environment, you will oversee material purchasing and planning strategies to optimize inventory and align forecasts with production needs. You will act as a key liaison between the company and its suppliers, partnering with Sourcing and Corporate Quality to monitor performance, resolve compliance issues, and strengthen vendor relationships. Additionally, you will support food safety programs and quality standards to ensure the legality and safety of manufactured products.

Requirements

verifiedBachelor's degree in supply chain-related discipline or 7 equivalent years of experience
verifiedAPICS affiliation/certification
verified3+ years of leadership experience
verified5+ years of food manufacturing experience
verified8+ years in purchasing or material planning role using MRP
verifiedAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills
verifiedExperience with ERP Systems (Microsoft Great Plains, SAP preferred)
verifiedExperience with manufacturing modules (MRP, MPS, WMS)
