This role is vital for maintaining the flow of goods, ensuring that items are stocked, pulled, and loaded efficiently. The Material Handler acts as a key link in the logistics chain, managing the movement of both palletized and non-palletized freight between the warehouse and company trucks.
The position involves a dynamic day-to-day routine focused on accuracy and safety. You will verify incoming shipments, count quantities, and ensure all paperwork is precise. A significant portion of the day is dedicated to picking and completing sales, work, and repair orders while maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment. Daily communication with the department lead ensures that any changes or updates are addressed immediately.
Safety and equipment reliability are paramount. The role requires conducting daily inspections of forklifts, lifts, and pallet jacks, as well as performing machine repair and upkeep. All employees receive comprehensive training prior to operating any equipment or machines, ensuring a safe working environment even when occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or moderate noise levels.
