Wherever you work and whatever you do, we invite you to discover your place in our world. Serco is a place you can count on and where you can make an impact because every contribution matters. We are a passionate, talented, and diverse team working across the globe.
As a Marine Electrician, you will join a team supporting cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations. This role is critical to our mission to protect and serve our Military, ensuring that successful and safe work is performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations.
You will work on a team fabricating and assembling various electromechanical and electronic assemblies by applying appropriate safety techniques. The work is performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations, requiring you to navigate environments with drafts, noise, and temperature variations. You may find yourself working in high heat spaces, climbing shipyard dry dock stairs and ladders, or kneeling to layout cable runs under false decking. This position is based in Norfolk, VA, though it supports a U.S. Government Contract requiring access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS).
In this mid-level role, you will perform assignments that are not completely standardized, selecting or adapting standard procedures using applicable precedents. You will troubleshoot and correct malfunctions, follow specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices, and conduct various tests requiring subjective judgments in measurement. Your work involves extracting and compiling engineering data from field notes and manuals, assisting in design modifications, and developing information concerning previous operational failures. You will rely on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, often working independently after receiving initial instructions.
If you are interested in supporting our team, please submit your application through Serco's external career site. The application window is for no more than 60 days; we encourage candidates to apply promptly as the position may close earlier if filled.
