SAAB is a global leader in defense and aerospace solutions, dedicated to delivering innovative systems that secure nations and advance technology. Our Manufacturing & Production team operates at the heart of this mission, transforming complex engineering designs into high-performance defense systems. We foster a culture of operational excellence, where precision, safety, and continuous improvement are not just goals but daily practices. In this highly collaborative environment, we empower our teams to drive innovation while maintaining the rigorous standards required by the defense industry.
As the Manager, Manufacturing, you will serve as the operational leader for our Defense & Aerospace sector, overseeing day-to-day shop-floor activities to ensure the on-time, high-quality delivery of critical systems. This role exists to bridge the gap between engineering vision and production reality, driving the efficiency and reliability of our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for cultivating a strong safety culture, optimizing production schedules, and leading cross-functional initiatives that enhance throughput and quality.
In this position, you will not only manage resources and budgets but also coach and develop a diverse team of supervisors, technicians, and operators. Your day will involve collaborating closely with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support new product introductions and design-for-manufacturability activities. You will monitor key performance indicators, lead root-cause analysis for production issues, and ensure strict adherence to AS9100/ISO9001 standards and defense regulations. This is an opportunity to lead in a dynamic setting where your leadership directly impacts the success of national defense programs.
Our interview process is designed to assess both your technical expertise and your cultural fit within our collaborative team. Selected candidates can expect a structured sequence of interactions, including an initial screening to discuss background and role alignment, followed by a technical deep-dive into manufacturing operations and problem-solving scenarios. The process typically concludes with a team fit interview and a final review with senior leadership before an offer is extended.
SAAB is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. We value the unique perspectives that diverse backgrounds bring to our mission of securing the future.
