Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Section Manager for the Circuit Avionics Design IPT within the SI&O Vehicle Systems Engineering Department. This part-time role is based at our Rancho Bernardo facility in the greater San Diego area.
The group's charter is to maintain and evolve products in air vehicle electrical design and integration that will continue to enable innovative solutions for cutting-edge vehicle management system architectures. As a Section Manager, you will provide leadership and management support to a section of 10 to 15 engineering leads and individual contributors. Approximately 25% of your time will be dedicated to leadership, people management, and supervisory duties, including personnel direction, coaching, program reviews, staffing, recruiting, and process improvement. The remaining 75% will be spent supporting direct programs or NCTA development efforts.
You will lead a team developing designs for vehicle electrical circuits and mechanical enclosures, potentially overseeing lab technicians involved with environmental test screening, qualification, production, and sustainment. This role requires balancing technical leadership with managerial responsibilities, including business support, budget management, and hiring, while working directly on a variety of air vehicle technical programs.
The application period for this job is estimated to be 20 days from the posting date, though this timeline may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and candidate availability. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible to ensure your candidacy is considered.
