As a Maintenance Technician, you will be the face of our community's physical upkeep. Your day involves diagnosing and repairing a wide array of systems—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, and emergency systems—to maintain the physical condition of the community. You will ensure that service requests and repairs are made in a timely manner, conduct preventative maintenance, and assist in painting both interior and exterior surfaces. A key part of your mission is ensuring vacant apartment homes are rent-ready in a timely manner.
You will also be responsible for maintaining an Incident and Injury Free safety culture by following all AvalonBay safety policies, reporting unsafe behaviors, and performing Hot Works (brazing, soldering, and welding) within company standards. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with associates and residents to provide exceptional customer service.

Candidates for this position must be able to accommodate an on-call schedule in rotation with the team each month. The role is based in Falls Church, Virginia.
