As a Maintenance Technician at Essex, you will be the backbone of our Diamond Bar community, ensuring a quality living environment for our residents. You will perform general maintenance tasks across the property, from handling work orders and unit turns to maintaining grounds, the clubhouse, and amenities. Your work directly preserves the asset and enhances the daily experience for those who call this community home.
Reporting to the Community Manager, General Operations Manager, or Maintenance Supervisor, you will operate in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability and a professional demeanor. This role is not just about fixing issues; it is about proactive care. You will conduct regular inspections to identify needs before they become costly repairs, manage preventive maintenance schedules, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
Your day will involve a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, from repairing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to preparing vacant units for new residents. You will respond promptly to resident requests, including emergency situations, and maintain organized records using SightPlan or similar trackers. This position requires a five-day onsite workweek with potential weekend coverage and on-call availability to ensure our community is always safe and functional.
