The Norton Thoracic Institute (NTI) at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a premier organization housing one of the leading lung transplant programs in the country. As a division of Dignity Health/CommonSpirit Health, the NTI is affiliated with Creighton University School of Medicine, Phoenix Campus, offering opportunities for academic appointments. Our group includes seven thoracic surgeons practicing across three clinic locations, supported by renowned advanced pulmonologists, interventional pulmonologists, and critical care physicians dedicated to the highest quality care for patients with complex thoracic and advanced pulmonary diseases.
Dignity Health St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center is the largest not-for-profit healthcare organization in the nation. Our organization seeks to serve the poor and disenfranchised, utilizing our healing ministry to promote the health of the entire patient rather than simply treating their disease. The mission of the Norton Thoracic Institute is to be a world-class destination for pulmonary and thoracic care with a focus on innovation, excellence, and scholarly activities.
The NTI operates within a vibrant network serving all three regions of the Valley of the Sun. Both St. Joseph's Hospital (571 beds) and Chandler Regional Medical Center (470 beds) are large, not-for-profit referral centers featuring state-of-the-art facilities, including robotic and minimally invasive surgery, advanced endoscopy, Level 1 Trauma programs, and surgery residency training programs.
