As a division of Dignity Health/CommonSpirit Health, the Institute includes seven thoracic surgeons, renowned advanced pulmonologists, interventional pulmonologists, and critical care physicians. The team is dedicated to providing the highest quality care for patients with complex thoracic and advanced pulmonary diseases across the Valley of the Sun.
The Institute operates within large, not-for-profit referral centers: St. Joseph's Hospital (571 beds) and Chandler Regional Medical Center (470 beds). Both facilities offer state-of-the-art amenities, including robotic and minimally invasive surgery, advanced endoscopy, Level 1 Trauma programs, and surgery residency training.
We are seeking an Intensivist to join the Cardiothoracic ICU (CICU) at St. Joseph's Hospital. This critical care position provides advanced medical care for hospitalized patients, including a mix of cardiovascular surgical, thoracic/esophageal surgical, and cardiac cases. The successful candidate will be a team player and program builder, willing to help develop the expanding cardiac ICU service.
In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care in a multidisciplinary setting, demonstrating teamwork with midlevel providers while increasing academic productivity. A key component of the practice involves managing patients with advanced circulatory support devices, such as VA/VV ECMO, Impellas, Protech Duos, and balloon pumps. Advanced training in ECMO cannulation and participation in a "Cardiovascular Shock Team" are integral to the position. We offer hands-on training and education for those dedicated to state-of-the-art care for patients requiring Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS).
As an affiliate of Creighton University School of Medicine, Phoenix Campus, this position offers faculty appointments, along with opportunities for research, quality improvement, and patient advocacy.
