This position supports the Office of Space Weather Observations (SWO) under NESDIS, which is responsible for advancing space weather observational capabilities to meet NOAA programmatic needs. The Space Weather Ground Services (SWGS) program ensures the successful implementation and operation of observing assets, maintaining the continuity of space weather measurements made by SWFO-L1 and the GOES-R series satellites.
As a Linux/Windows Systems Administrator, you will support activities across a new satellite ground system development program for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). You will manage administration activities throughout the full system lifecycle—from architecture and design through integration, assessment, authorization, operational deployment, and sustainment. This role is critical for supporting a FISMA High-impact system in a cloud-based environment, requiring close collaboration with Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Networks, Security, and Operations teams to ensure infrastructure and applications are implemented per system design documentation.
