The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) serves as a vital member of the nursing team, working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to administer comprehensive patient care. This role is designed to complement the nursing process, assisting in the individualized care of patients to help them adapt to their disease processes and achieve the highest possible level of wellness.
In this position, you will partner closely with the RN to support the development of care plans, ensuring continuity of care through the review of diagnostic data, medical orders, and nursing assessments. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve setting care priorities based on patient acuity, accurately documenting patient symptoms and responses, and safely performing nursing procedures consistent with scientific principles. You will also play a key role in patient and family education, reporting learning needs, and assisting with discharge planning to ensure patients are prepared for their transition home.
