The Math & Sciences Department at Kapi‘olani Community College (KapCC) is dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality education in the biological sciences. As part of the University of Hawai‘i system, our team fosters a diverse learning environment that empowers students to explore the natural world and prepare for transfer or career pathways in life sciences.
We are seeking a Biology Lecturer to join our faculty for the Fall 2026 term. This temporary, part-time position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of scientists and environmental stewards in Hawai‘i. The role focuses on delivering engaging instruction in biology, microbiology, ecology, or related life sciences, with flexibility to teach online, evening, or weekend classes.
As a Lecturer, you will be an integral part of the department's teaching mission. You will design course syllabi, assess student progress against specific competencies, and maintain regular office hours to support student success. You will collaborate with the discipline coordinator and fellow instructors to ensure a cohesive educational experience across the biology curriculum. This position is ideal for an educator passionate about community college students and experienced in outcomes-based instruction.

Teaching experience at the community college level. Demonstrated ability to work with community college students. Work experience related to the course to be taught. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively. Familiarity with competency- and outcomes-based instruction. Work experience or teaching experience in the field of ecology or environmental science. Experience in leading students in service-learning and working with local community environmental organizations.
