Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer to join our client's Payments Product team in Charlotte, NC. This is an onsite, 12+ month contract role with long-term potential, offering a competitive pay range of $55 - $65/hr. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the ACI Payments Stack to drive modernization initiatives and ensure the reliability of global payment rails.

About the Role

In this capacity, you will serve as a technical lead for cross-team initiatives, guiding design, integration, and deployment strategies. You will collaborate closely with architects, senior engineers, and product partners to support critical modernization efforts, including cloud readiness, API design, and application migration. Your day-to-day will involve active participation in coding, peer reviews, and technical decision-making to ensure solutions meet rigorous security, scalability, and performance standards.

You will be instrumental in troubleshooting complex technical issues, identifying root causes, and resolving development blockers. The role requires a strong focus on automation, contributing to CI/CD improvements, DevOps practices, and test automation. You will also support testing phases such as system testing, UAT, and performance validation, ensuring robust RTO/RPO validation and adherence to ISO 20022 message orchestration.
