The Lead Custodian serves as the guiding force for a team of custodial workers, ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of the facility. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards through the planning and execution of cleaning schedules, management of supplies and equipment, and the training of new staff. Beyond daily operations, the Lead Custodian acts as a key liaison, responding to special cleaning requests and emergencies while fostering positive relationships with apprentices, staff, and the public.
As the head custodian for the 1st Shift, you will oversee a comprehensive range of duties to keep the facility pristine. Your day involves instructing staff on proper cleaning and maintenance procedures while implementing health, safety, and security protocols. You will inspect facilities and equipment, ensuring all work meets organizational standards, and coordinate custodial services for various activities and events.
Your hands-on responsibilities include driving and operating the ZA shuttle as needed, performing preventative maintenance on sanitation equipment, and managing facility records and work orders. You will lead daily cleaning routines across restrooms, kitchens, breakrooms, and office areas, utilizing disinfectant fogging and detailed vacuuming techniques. Additionally, you will serve as a member of the Crisis Intervention Team, ready to address urgent situations and ensure a safe environment for everyone.
