The Kaw Nation is dedicated to the stewardship and management of its ancestral lands. Our mission involves maintaining a comprehensive land inventory, managing natural resources, and executing programs for land disposal, acquisition, and conservation. We work to preserve forests, rangelands, and natural sites while fostering strong relationships with federal, state, and local governments.
As a Land Management Specialist, you will serve as a vital member of our team responsible for the physical maintenance and development of the Nation's land assets. This role exists to ensure the operational readiness of our natural sites through hands-on labor and resource management. You will work independently and creatively to support the Land Management Director and Chair in executing the Nation's land inventory and classification programs.
Your day-to-day activities will involve a blend of outdoor labor and coordination. You will assist with planting and harvesting, tend to domesticated livestock, and manage fencing construction and repair. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift 50lbs, and the mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain heavy equipment. You will also coordinate with government entities on land management issues and perform essential landscaping, weeding, and hay management tasks.
All new hires are required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Failure to pass these screenings will result in the withdrawal of the job offer or termination of employment.
