This entry-level position is designed for a fresh graduate or candidate with at least one year of relevant experience to join our laboratory team in Elk River, MN. The role serves as a critical support function for the processing team, focusing on the daily management of laboratory samples and document retention systems. Approximately 90% of the work is hands-on lab operations, ensuring the accurate preparation and analysis of forage and animal feed samples.
In this position, you will handle ingredient samples that may contain potential allergens, requiring a proactive focus on workplace safety and strict adherence to safety policies. The role involves a blend of technical tasks and organizational duties, including sample receiving, organizing, leveling, grinding, NIR scanning, labeling, and weighing. You will also participate in the lab housekeeping program and utilize Microsoft Office 365 tools to support data management and communication.
The position is based in Elk River, MN, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Occasionally, the role requires working half-days on Saturdays (averaging once per month), typically starting around 7:00 AM and concluding by 10:00 AM. This is a 7-month contract position running from May 11, 2026, to December 31, 2026.
