The Laboratory Generalist 1 is a vital part of our team, responsible for receiving and preparing samples for laboratory analysis, setting up instruments, and running tests. In this role, you will read, interpret, and release results while ensuring all quality control measures are met according to Quality Assurance guidelines. You will participate in improving lab efficiency and quality, engage in departmental training programs, and reconcile pending lists. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
This role operates within a laboratory environment that may present biohazards, mitigated by the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Associates may be exposed to agents known to cause zoonotic disease and potentially hazardous chemicals. The position involves stationary work for up to two hours, frequent operation of computers and lab equipment, and occasional physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, or lifting up to 50 lbs. Extended hours may be required.
