Kitchen Designer

About the Role

The Designer role is central to The Home Depot's mission of putting customers first. You will serve as a trusted advisor, guiding homeowners through their kitchen and bath projects from the initial greeting to the final purchase. Your work directly supports three core store priorities: delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining optimal inventory of samples and brochures, and ensuring showrooms remain safe, appealing, and inviting.

In this position, you will interact with customers to assess their project needs, provide showroom tours, and facilitate room design consultations. You will explain product features, outline project steps, and assist with special orders and installed sales. Beyond customer interaction, you play a vital role in store operations by monitoring stock levels and ensuring the shopping environment promotes safety and visual appeal.

Working Conditions

This role is performed primarily within a comfortable showroom environment, though it involves regular exposure to factors that may cause moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors. The warehouse and store areas can be noisy, and doors are frequently open, leading to drafts and temperature fluctuations.

Safety is a key consideration due to the active nature of the store. You may encounter temporary floor cracks caused by heavy equipment, slippery surfaces during wet weather, and gas fumes from passing forklifts. The role also involves handling merchandise and tools that may have sharp edges or contain hazardous materials.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel may be required, typically involving overnight trips for less than 10% of the time.
