About the Role

Begin your Petco journey as a Junior Pet Stylist in Grooming! This role is designed for those with a genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in the pet care industry. Your primary purpose is to learn how to perform essential grooming services—including bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning—alongside seasoned groomers.

During this ten-week training period, you will gain hands-on experience with guidance from industry-leading mentors. You will learn fundamental grooming tasks while prioritizing the comfort, safety, and well-being of the pets in our care. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop essential skills and set the foundation for a future career with Petco Grooming, all while delivering optimal customer service to pet parents.

The Training Experience

Our industry-leading program is structured to ensure you are fully prepared for the salon environment:

• Weeks 1-3: Learning and On-the-Job Training You will learn dog behavior, pet and self-safety, proper check-in/out procedures, customer service, and grooming policies. This phase includes beginning on-the-job training in bathing and drying techniques.
• Weeks 3-10: Performing and Achieving Productivity You will perform bathing and walk-in services while working toward weekly productivity goals under close supervision.
